- Adaptive Cruise Control – Unlike traditional cruise control, which simply maintains a consistent speed, adaptive cruise control maintains a consistent distance between your vehicle and the vehicle in front of you. If the vehicle in front slows down, adaptive cruise control will too, helping you to avoid collisions and leaving you to focus on steering.
- Blind Spot Monitoring – This feature, which comes in a variety of formats, will warn you whenever there is something in your blind spot, allowing you to avoid taking your eyes off the road to check over your shoulder. These systems may feature sound cues, blinking lights, or even video displays.
- Lane Assist – There are varying levels of lane assist technologies. Lane-departure warning systems will issue audible or haptic warnings whenever your vehicle begins to veer across lane markings. Lane-keep assist will automatically correct your steering when it senses that you are beginning to veer across lane markings. Lane-centering assist will continuously help you steer to keep you centered between the lane markings of your lane.
- Collision Avoidance – Forward-collision warning systems provide audio or visual warnings when your vehicle senses an incoming collision. Automatic braking systems can even brake for you to help prevent such collisions.
